They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
Mark 14:32 (NIV)
Welcome to Gethsemane on the World Wide Web! When Jesus wanted a peaceful place to pray, he went to the Garden of Gethsemane, just outside of Jerusalem. Jerusalem’s Gethsemane is a grove of trees, close to the city yet secluded enough for spiritual refreshment.
Houston’s Gethsemane is similar, in some ways, to Jerusalem’s. Gethsemane Lutheran sits in the midst of a grove of oak trees in northwest Houston, about 10 miles from downtown. Houston’s Gethsemane has been a place for people to come for spiritual nourishment for over 45 years.
You are invited to attend with us, to hear and study God’s Word, and to learn that you are loved by God. God has a plan for your life!
